Job Description
Principal Functions

General Duties:



· Under instruction from the Production Manager, Operate and maintain the ships onboard technical equipment with primary responsibility for scenic and mechanical systems. Responsible for the ships mechanical staging and scenic systems and their operation.







Specific Duties:



· Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure full technical support is given to the entertainment program.

· Pre-set all set and technical equipment required for events, operate equipment and manually move set / hardware as required.

· Operate other technical Entertainment equipment as instructed.

· Report any fault to the Production Manager and action any necessary repairs.

· Regularly test all the ships mechanical systems, document and take action on results.

· Provide Supervisory duties over Entertainment Technical Assistants.

· Provide technical support for promotional presentations by our onboard revenue partners.

· Provide assistance to the Broadcast team in setting up locations for shoots.

· Ensure all entertainment scenery and mechanical effects on the vessel are to the highest achievable standard.

· Prepare suitable hand over notes.

· Be responsible for and sign over the equipment in the stage inventory to relieving Stage Technicians.
Requirements

Skills Necessary:



· Good Management and communication skills

· Strong computer and writing skills.

· Experience of mechanical lifts, hoists, revolves, tracks and scenic flying systems, including their maintenance and repair.

· Experience of Mechanical control and automation systems.

· Experience of Stage Scenery, and practices used

· Mechanical / DIY skills for scenic repair.

· Basic operational skills in both professional lighting and sound equipment.

· A full understanding of electrical properties in association with the relevant equipment onboard.

· Experience of staging systems in theatrical situations.

· Neat appearance.
